A 40-year-old Queenstown man has been arrested today in connection with a serious assault at a nightclub in the town last weekend.
The man has been arrested on a charge of wounding with reckless disregard causing grevious bodily harm, police said.
The incident took place at the Subculture nightclub about 3am last Saturday, and the victim, Jordan Sinke, remains in Dunedin Hospital where he was in an induced coma.
The alleged assailant is also facing a charge of Crimes Act common assault in relation to an alleged assault on a friend of the victim's who was in the bar at the time.
He has been given strict court-imposed bail conditions to appear on Monday in the Queenstown District Court.
