Peak holiday traffic was reduced to a crawl after a car rolled on Frankton Rd near Queenstown yesterday afternoon.

Sergeant Kate Pirovano, of Queenstown, said a 26-year-old Christchurch woman pulled out of Andrews Rd on to Frankton Rd and collided with a car travelling towards Frankton.

A 26-year-old Brazilian national living in Queenstown lost control of her car, which rolled.

No-one was injured in the crash.

Inquiries are continuing.

• A 49-year-old American man, living in Queenstown, was arrested on Sunday after an alleged road rage assault.

Sgt Pirovano said the man punched another driver after a minor traffic incidentat 2.30pm in Queenstown.

He will appear in the Queenstown District Court in January.
