Parker to announce school redevelopment plans

Cabinet minister David Parker will visit Wanaka Primary School tomorrow to announce the Ministry of Education's plans to redevelop the overcrowded school.

The Minister of Education, Chris Carter, was scheduled, to say whether the bulging primary school would shift to a new Scurr Heights site.

But Mr Carter's press secretary, Steven Boyd, said the minister was unable to come because he was detained in Wellington, where Parliament is sitting under urgency this week.

Mr Parker is scheduled to make his announcement at 9.30am at Wanaka Primary School tomorrow.
