The pair have been named as celebrity judges for the "Glammie" Awards, New Zealand Beef and Lamb's annual countrywide quest to find the best tasting lamb.
Jools and Lynda Topp's heartland act has graced many a stage at A. and P. shows around New Zealand and the veteran pair's tastebuds will be put to the test to help find the 2010 Golden Lamb, a press release from NZ Beef and Lamb says.
The entertainers will line up alongside returning judges and award-winning chefs Graham Hawkes, of Invercargill, and Michael Coughlin, of Dunedin.
The judges will sample 20 finalist lamb cuts produced by farmers from around New Zealand.
Butchers can also enter the Champion Meat Retailer section of the awards, run in conjunction with Meat and Wool New Zealand.
The competition is a chance for farmers to display their premium product in the "paddock to plate" contest, Meat and Wool NZ chief executive, Dr Scott Champion.
The Topp Twins join previous "celebrity" lamb-tasting judges at the Glammies such as NZ Beef and Lamb ambassadors Caroline and Georgina Evers-Swindell, and former All Black prop Richard Loe (2009), Prime Minister John Key (2008), and V8 racing driver Greg Murphy (2007).
The top four best tasting lambs in different categories will be judged at the final on March 12 at the Upper Clutha A. and P. Show in Wanaka.
