Two relocatable classrooms arrived to be installed before the start of the first term to accommodate pupils at the expanding school.
Principal Wendy Bamford said the "great big" classrooms would cater for roll growth until 2010, when the school moved to a new site at Scurr Heights.
A $21.5 million relocation fund for the Scurr Heights school was announced by the Ministry of Education in September.
Dr Bamford said she expected about 60 new pupils in the first term.
The roll at the end of last year was 412.
The relocatable classrooms will be where the school's swimming pool used to be. The pool was removed after it fell into disrepair.
The new buildings are in addition to a classroom which was built last year and completed in June, Dr Bamford said.
The rooms were transported from Dunedin and came from Northeast Valley School.
