‘Rarity’: big block of land for sale

A pivotal 10.2ha block at the eastern or Lake Hayes end of Queenstown’s massive planned Ladies Mile residential/commercial subdivision is for sale.

One of the precinct’s last large-scale development opportunities, "the land is a rarity with virtually no other flat blocks of this size available in the Queenstown market", JLL New Zealand marketing agent Jonathan Ogg said.

Altogether, the 120ha Te Pūtahi Ladies Mile precinct unlocks capacity for about 2400 residential units.

This easternmost site — for sale by deadline private treaty, closing on Wednesday — is just 400m from the Ladies Mile’s commercial area, which will include a Woolworths supermarket.

Also in the precinct is a 6.1ha site on which Simplicity NZ is planning to construct 600 build-to-rent units.

The Ministry of Education has also bought a site for a primary school.
