The curling season in Gore has concluded and it went down to the wire.

The eight-team competition was close throughout the round-robin and that played out in the semifinals and final.

The Ice Angels team of Peter Cooper, Russell Morton, Matt Breen, Fred Cottam and Grant Scott won the minor premiership for being the top qualifier for the finals.

It took on the Ardlussa team in an extremely close-fought final.

Ardlussa won 8-7 in a match with the lead changing six times over the 10 ends. The teams went into the final end tied up at seven points apiece. The Ardlussa team was one up when it threw its last stone, so made sure it did not go anywhere near the winning placed stone.

The Koi team took third place with a win over the 41’ers.

The Ardlussa team of Fraser Elder, Ross McKee, Brian Dillon, Lindsay Tayles, Charlie Smaill and Paul Pearse won for the fourth year in a row and also won the trophy for the most scoring stones for the season.

It is hoped the competition will have 10 teams in it next season.
