Bondy won the main trial at Rangiora yesterday by a nose from Georgetown.
Both horses started from 30m running the 2600m in a moderate 3.23.
The last 800 was run in 58.8, the final 400 in 29.4.
Bondy has not raced since finishing fourth to Monkey King in the Auckland Cup on March 12.
Georgetown also had his last start in the Auckland Cup.
