Opie Bosson is back on Booming (International Stakes) and King's Rose (Sir Tristram Classic) at Te Rapa tomorrow, after missing the mounts in recent major wins through injury.

Bosson was out with a shoulder injury when Booming won the group one Zabeel Classic (weight-for-age 2000m) and King's Rose won the gr two Royal Stakes (2000m) at the Auckland meeting on December 26 and January 1. Vinnie Colgan rode Booming and James McDonald was on King's Rose.

Masa Tanaka had the mount when Booming resumed a month later with a win in the gr one Thorndon Handicap (1600m) at Trentham. Bosson took the mount on The Meista (unplaced) when it was indicated that Booming would bypass that race.

Bosson has ridden Booming in four of his eight wins, the most recent an open 1200m at Awapuni on November 9, an indication of the versatility of the Don Eduardo gelding trained by Jeff Lynds at Awapuni.

Booming is back to 2000m under wfa conditions tomorrow.

Bosson has won the race on Aerosmith (1999), Lashed (2004) and Sir Slick (2007).

Sir Slick and Veloce Bella, who won the race last year, are rivals for Booming. Veloce Bella won the wfa Trentham Stakes (2100m) two starts back. She won the Sir Tristram Classic at this meeting four years ago.

Bosson has ridden King's Rose to win the New Zealand One Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Riccarton, the Coupland Stakes (1400m) at Ashburton and the Eulogy Stakes (1600m) at Awapuni this season.

A win would clinch the New Zealand Filly of Year title for King's Rose. She leads the New Zealand Bloodstock-sponsored series with 26 points, 14.5 clear of Smoulder.

Bosson was under suspension and missed the mount on Katie Lee, winner of the Sir Tristram Classic last year. Mark Du Plessis was the rider.

Graeme and Debbie Rogerson, the trainers of Katie Lee, have Dating in the field tomorrow. Dating won the Desert Gold Stakes (1600m) at Trentham at her last start.
