Choir announces soloists for ‘Messiah’

City Choir Dunedin has announced the soloists for its performance of Handel's Messiah, coming up next Tuesday, December 7, from 7.30pm at Dunedin Town Hall.

Conducted by City Choir Dunedin director David Burchell, the performance will be accompanied by Dunedin Symphony Orchestra and will feature soloists Rebecca Ryan (soprano), Claire Barton (alto), Oliver Sewell (tenor), and Paul Whelan (bass).

Handel’s Messiah is heard around the world during the Christmas season.

Under the Government’s Covid-19 traffic light Orange setting, audience numbers will be unrestricted for Tuesday’s performance of Messiah. However, both performers and audience members must comply with the vaccine mandate, including scanning or signing in, wearing face masks, and showing vaccine passes.
