Mornington Tavern is excited to announce the opening of its new premium events facility: ‘Venue’ on Mailer.

Opened in 1974, Mornington Tavern has been offering Southern hospitality through its restaurant, bar and venue room for decades. The downstairs events area has undergone many changes over the years — some of you may remember it as popular nightclub, Abbot’s.

The tavern’s latest owner, Murdoch Miskimmin (who purchased the tavern in 2010), has completely refurbished the outdated venue area, sparing no expense in making it a lavish setting for your next conference, party or wedding. The facility can comfortably seat 100 guests, or 150 standing up, and has all the equipment you need to host a successful conference or meeting, including free wi-fi, big-screen TVs, sound system and whiteboard.

There’s also plenty of off-street parking and airport pick-up is available by arrangement. Choose from light refreshments, a full meal from the tavern’s restaurant (Fat Harry’s), or a selection of delicious canapes. A package can be tailored to suit your needs and budget. ‘Venue’ also has its own private bar, with extensive beer, wine and liquor available, including the latest offerings from Lion and Emerson’s Brewery.

There’s also a dance floor (with optional pole for performers), and a jukebox with over 720,000 songs, so your guests can dance the night away. The rustic Mediterranean-style courtyard features whimsical canopy lighting and a gas fire, so even if it gets chilly, your guests can socialise in comfort.
