Detective Sergeant Chris Henderson, of the Dunedin CIB, said staff were now sorting through the information received.
The show canvassed two unsolved assaults on women in St Clair, one in May and one in July.
Det Sgt Henderson said police did not know if the two events were connected, but given they happened in similar locations there was a chance they might be.
He said people in the area should report any suspicious behaviour and take a common-sense approach to personal safety.
"If you are going to be walking around after dark, make sure it is in a well-lit area and preferably with someone."
In the first case, a 27-year-old woman was pushed from behind over a low wall near the Southcoast Boardriders Club at the Esplanade at 2.20am, and landed in a bush. A person then leaned over her, held her down and sexually assaulted her. The offender was described as large, of heavy build and wearing a large jacket.
In the second case, a 26-year-old woman was followed from Southcoast Boardriders Club about 2.20am. She was followed along Victoria Rd to Hargest Cres, where she stopped, turned to face her pursuer and yelled at him.
He placed his hands on her shoulders and pushed her up against a nearby fence, then attempted to sexually assault her.
She yelled loudly, pushed him off and ran home.
The offender described as a male Caucasian aged in his 30s, about 167cm tall, with short hair and wearing a dark woollen ribbed jersey.
