The logo (pictured) will be used on signage, promotional material, the website and other information for the 312km trail, at present under construction.
Alps 2 Ocean runs through the Waitaki and Mackenzie District Councils' areas.
The logo was sent to New Zealand Cycle Trail for approval and Waitaki council chief executive Michael Ross said it had been described as one of the best designs of trail branding it had seen.
The logo incorporates the New Zealand trail's logo into a design that reflects the Alps 2 Ocean trail.
