The Waitaki District Council set up Moeraki Community group to look at ways of reducing the stability issues which have existed in the coastal town for more than 100 years.
Recently, those issues resulted in a risk plan being produced for the town, which has impacted on some property prices.
The working party first met in May, to provide a link between the council and the Moeraki community.
The first objective was to survey stormwater discharges in Moeraki to stop it entering areas where stability was an issue.
Council chief executive Michael Ross said retired plumber Murray Cumming, who was leading the group, had now completed an assessment of individual properties and was analysing the information.
Areas of work were being identified using the field assessment information and with input from the community group and would be put to the Waihemo Community Board's meeting.
The aim was to identify projects which would provide maximum impact for the limited funding available.
''The initiative is working well and we are positive the works will help slow down land movement in Moeraki,'' Mr Ross said.
Recent heavy rain which led to flooding in the distinct had also damaged Haven St, the main street into Moeraki. Some repairs were required to bring it back to its previous standard.
