Admission prices to council-run pools in the Clutha district will rise in July.
The Clutha District Council voted this week to increase admission charges for the Balclutha, Milton, Kaitangata and Lawrence swimming pools from $2 to $3 for adults, $1 to $2.50 for seniors, and $1 to $2 for children.
Concession tickets will also cost more. The current charges have been in place in Balclutha and Milton since July 1996, and in Lawrence and Kaitangata since July 2005. Other pools in the district are community-operated and will not be affected by the admission fee hike.
Schools in the district have had free access to council-run swimming pools since 1993 and councillors voted to retain this concession.
