Racing: Sold to Sydney

Vladimir The Great, the winner of his two starts, is now in the Sydney stable Peter Rixon after being sold.

The Bettor's Delight-Shy Angel 3yr-old won at Ashburton and Addington for breeder Hambletonian Ltd from the Dunsandel stable of Richard and Julia Aubrey.

Alchemy, the well-performed 4yr-old in the stable, has had a short spell and he will not race for a few weeks.

The winner of eight of his 23 starts, Alchemy was runner-up to Choise Achiever in the Amberley Cup at his last start.

• Stephen Baucke had his first win as a trainer when the 3yr-old filly Citylight won over a mile in 1.56.5 at Wyndham yesterday.

Baucke, a share-milker at Dunearn, took out a trainer's licence last season.

The other horse he has in work, Asignforbrownie, finished second yesterday.

Citylight showed ability when raced four times as a 2yr-old and Baucke sent her to Papakura trainer Tony Herlihy this season as a prospective Sires' Stakes hope.

She returned to Dunearn after two starts.

Baucke bred Citylight, a 3yr-old by Christian Cullen and the first foal of Operative Asset, who qualified but did not race.

She is a half-sister by Armbro Operative to Happy Asset (1999 Auckland Cup) and Mighty Khan (1.51.6).

Baucke bought her from neighbour Dave Kennedy, a prominent breeder.

Baucke won a race as an owner with Sheza Speedsta at a Tuesday meeting at Invercargill in 2003 when racing the filly with Dawn Kennedy and trainer Alan Paisley.

Sheza Speedsta was then sold.

• Terrorway was untroubled to win yesterday, following on from his first-up win at Cromwell.

The 4yr-old gave trainers Graeme Anderson and Amber Hoffman their 15th win for the season.

A $26,000 Premier Yearling Sale purchase from Rodney Dickson, Terrorway is raced by Anderson, Wendy Muldrew and Brian Sceats, of Wingatui.

Terrorway is by Western Terror and the second foal of Rejoicing, the dam of Jupiter Grove (two wins).

• Trainer John McNair has confirmed Hay List is to resume racing in the group two $A200,000 Expressway Stakes after a sparkling gallop between races at Gosford last Thursday, AAP reports.

The Manikato Stakes winner recorded 33.81 for the final 600m and finished clear of stablemate Mighty Obvious.

"Jockey Glyn Schofield was very happy," McNair said.

After the Expressway Stakes at Rosehill on February 5, Hay List will head to Melbourne.

He is the $7.50 second favourite for the group one Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington behind Black Caviar ($2.30) with TAB Sportsbet.
