How do you ask forgiveness for an unforgivable act?

In The Son-in-Law, Joseph is desperate to win back his children after accidentally killing their mother Zoe. Told from the perspective of Joseph, his daughter Scarlett and his mother-in-law Hannah, this emotionally complicated story explores the impact mental illness can have on a family and how one moment of anger can undo a lifetime of love.

Newly released from prison, Joseph will do anything he can to bring his family back together. Consumed with bitterness, Hannah will do anything to stop him ruining their lives further. Stuck in the middle, 13-year-old Scarlett struggles with conflicting emotions and divided loyalties.

Joseph's road to forgiveness is well paced and believably difficult and Norman has created a warm, loving family that is messy and relatable and doing its best to deal with tragedy.
