Happy with a $12,000 donation from Dunedin Pharmacy Guild members to the Chair in Neurosurgery campaign are (from left) guild Otago division chairman and director of Unichem Gardens Pharmacy, Dunedin North Pharmacy and Unichem South City Pharmacy, Chin Loh, campaign chairman Brian McMahon and Roslyn Care Chemist director Andy Hou, as other guild members look on, in Dunedin yesterday.

The 13 pharmacies involved in the donation are Anderson's Exchange, Caversham, Dunedin North, Larson's Green Island, McNaughton's, Mornington, Mosgiel Health Centre, Musselburgh, Macandrew Bay, Roslyn Care Chemist, Unichem Centre City, Unichem Gardens and Unichem South City.

Mr Loh said the fund-raising campaign was "not only important to Dunedin but very important to New Zealand as well".

"As health professionals, we of course have clients that will benefit from future research and, on a more personal level, as members of the community, we ourselves would like to see health benefits to our family and local community," he said.
