Prince William and Catherine are scheduled to arrive in the resort tomorrow afternoon, an opportunity five pupils involved in the Wakatipu Leadership Summit decided to commemorate on a T-shirt which will be sold and all money raised would go directly to the Child Cancer Holiday Home in Arrowtown.
The Pioneers team leader Victoria Boult said the summit aimed to teach young people about leadership and community spirit. Pupils had to select a charity, raise awareness of it and come up with a fundraising mechanism to benefit it.
Victoria said the ''Keep Calm & Love Kate and Will'' T-shirts would not only commemorate the historic visit, but ensure those wearing the T-shirts raised awareness for the Child Cancer Holiday Home.
Hawkins Group had supported the project by funding the production of the limited edition T-shirts, ensuring every sale was profit for the home.
The Arrowtown home was officially opened in 2012, and is owned by the Child Cancer Foundation Otago-Southland Accommodation Trust, established in the 1980s to provide accommodation for Otago and Southland children with cancer and their families.
Victoria said 60 T-shirts were for sale at $25 each and available by emailing email@example.com.
