Television advertisement pushes resort

For the first time, Destination Queenstown is using a television advertisement to encourage New Zealanders to visit Queenstown this spring and summer.

The 30-second advertisement, which began screening last night and will run on TV1 and TV2, is part of DQ's domestic and seasonal marketing campaign.

DQ Marketing general manager Graham Budd said it was exciting to be demonstrating to the rest of the country "how awesome our home is" through television.

"It's an effective way for a large audience to get a sense of Queenstown's dramatic scenery, its unique experiences and the buzz of being here," Mr Budd said.

The commercial was designed to encapsulate the resort's "diversity of experiences" and showcased the lake and alpine area as a "compelling fly/drive spring and summer holiday destination".

Air New Zealand was also partnering the campaign and it would be supporting the message through its communications channels.
