A publican in the tiny Buller town of Granity, 32km northeast of Westport, says he'll shout the All Whites free booze for a week if they manage to win the Football World Cup.
The competition kicks off this Saturday in South Africa and the All Whites will play their first game, against Slovakia, on June 15.
The Big Fish Hotel publican Grant Smith said he planned to write an open letter to All Whites' coach Ricki Herbert and captain Ryan Nelsen to give them some extra motivation.
"If they win the World Cup I'll shout them a free week on the p… at the Big Fish."
Asked if he thought the All Whites would win the Cup, he said: "Not at all -- I wouldn't be shouting them a week on the p…(otherwise)…
"There's a very outside chance we'll get through the first round but that will be it."
The TAB is offering odds of 1000:1 of the All Whites winning the cup.
Mr Smith has also planned a variety of activities during the five-week Cup.
He said he would offer breakfast during the early bird games, a sweepstake, and screen all the games.
"We are calling ourselves Buller's Unofficial All Whites supporters' club and basically just getting behind it ... the pub is decorated in all the World Cup colours."
