Show your support for neurosurgery services in the South

Neurosurgery services in Otago and Southland are under threat. The Otago Daily Times urges readers and people of New Zealand to express their opposition to any reduction of services.

Have your say by writing post-free to the Hon. Tony Ryall, Minister of Health, Parliament Buildings, Wellington (or email at Tony.Ryall@parliament.govt.nz). You can also write to the Director-general of Health, PO Box 5013, Wellington 6011.

If you don't feel confident to write using your own words, simply print out the letter below and send it post-free to Mr Ryall.

The Hon. Tony Ryall
Minister of Health
Parliament Buildings
Wellington

Dear Mr Ryall,

I am alarmed by the prospect of Dunedin Hospital losing its resident neurosurgery services. I believe this significantly lessens the safety of people living in or visiting southern New Zealand and must not be allowed to happen.

I strongly object to further downgrading our our southern health services. It is grossly unfair for New Zealanders and overseas visitors to face higher risks, extra stress and additional costs.

Yours sincerely,
