Plane in emergency landing

A Christchurch-bound flight turned back to Nelson when a warning light came on this morning.

An Air New Zealand spokeswoman said the pilot of the Air Nelson flight returned the plane to ground when a warning indicator light lit up on the flight deck.

The spokeswoman said the aircraft landed without incident.

"It returned to Nelson to be inspected by engineers and it'll be back in service early this afternoon." The 31 passengers on board were transferred to the next available flight, she said.
