Submissions on the Central Otago District Council's proposed waste-minimisation strategy will be heard by the council's infrastructure subcommittee on February 23.
The council received 39 submissions before a closing date of January 29.
Its proposed strategy would see the general rate used to pay for waste disposal replaced by a user-pays system.
Charges at refuse transfer stations would increase accordingly, and the cost of waste disposal would rise.
In April last year, the council agreed in principle to implement a waste levy on all rubbish generated in the district, to take effect from July 1.
