As the Mackenzie Summer Salmon and Wine Festival enters its sixth year, tomorrow's event promises to be as big and entertaining as ever.
Last year, more than 2500 people attended the festival.
Co-ordinator Scott Aronsen said more than 30 stalls had been booked for this year's festival at the Twizel Events Centre promoting local products and food, including wineries from the Waitaki Valley, Central Otago and Canterbury.
The annual festival is a promotion for the region's food and wine, with special emphasis on salmon from the area.
A feature of past festivals has been cooking displays by celebrity chefs, but this year organisers decided to go local.
Chefs from Twizel restaurants - Poppies, Kohan and the Mackenzie Country Inn - will each give half-hour cooking demonstrations throughout the day.
Children and adult entertainers will add to the atmosphere from when doors open at 10am until the festival finishes at 5pm.
A fishing and hunting shop will give advice about local fishing while a tour group will have Lord of the Rings movie props on display.
Proceeds from the festival go to local organisations.
