Titan Banner back with All Stars stable

Star Westwood Beach pacer Titan Banner has transferred back to Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen.

Former trainer and part-owner Graeme Anderson's commitments to the full team he has in work at his Westwood Beach stable means the All Stars stable has been charged with taking the 6yr-old on his Auckland Cup campaign, Anderson said.

Titan Banner heads north searching for more luck than he received during New Zealand Cup week.

When looking a top-three chance in the New Zealand Cup with less than 800m left to run, he was pushed into a hopeless position after being checked by Tiger Tara.

Drawing barrier 8 and getting back to second-last on New Zealand record speed effectively ended the pacer's winning chances in Ultimate Machete's New Zealand Free For All.

Titan Banner was a revelation in the All Stars colours in Auckland last year.

The horse won the Summer Cup and Franklin Cup before a tough run outside the leader on race-record speed meant he finished eighth in Dream About Me's Auckland Cup.

This year Titan Banner is likely to head straight to the Franklin Cup on December 15 rather than defending his Summer Cup crown.

Titan Banner's exit means Eamon Maguire is once again Anderson's stable star.

He has been freshened since his down the track run in testing conditions in last month's Tuapeka Cup.

The 4yr-old returned to the track with an effortless trial win at Forbury Park on Sunday.

Where the horse will step out on race day next is somewhat of a mystery.

Anderson hopes to give the horse one more trial before finding a suitable race. Find that race is proving difficult for the rating 88 pacer, Anderson said.
