Sam Foley's Otira Gorge
His winning painting was of Otira Gorge (a homage to Petrus van der Velden's A Waterfall in Otira Gorge), with water movement and the odd truck projected on to the painting.
The People's Choice Award was decided following an exhibition of Wallace Art Awards finalists at the New Dowse gallery in Lower Hutt.
The prize comes with a $500 cheque.
