Long flights take toll on Hobbit actor

An actor in The Hobbit movies is reportedly suffering from suspected deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after making numerous long-haul flights to and from New Zealand.

James Nesbitt, who is playing the dwarf Bofur in the two Hobbit movies being filmed in New Zealand, sought medical advice after he felt pain in his legs while taking part in a charity golf day in London, The Sun newspaper reported.

The actor was reportedly in agony as he "limped his way around the course".

A doctor and a haematologist checked Nesbitt and both suspected he was suffering from DVT.
